About The Event
What is a STEM Hangout you may be asking? The standard day off camp I offer is structured and planned accordingly. We rotate stations, play games, have experiments, yada yada yada. STEM Hangout is a deconstructed version of all of those great things and more. I'll be passing out STEM Passports with a dozen or so challenges on them. The students will then have open-ended time to complete the challenges to be eligible to win fun prizes and giveaways. It'll take focus, time management, and teamwork. ...and will be a lot of fun.
This is an amazing opportunity to really hone your Lego Mindstorms EV3 Programming skills or become a master 3d designer. Let's get 2019 kicked off in style!!
Each day will be a similar format but for students wanting to attend both days, there will be additional challenges and options so you won't have to do the same thing each day unless you're wanting to.
We will still have team activities and teachers to assist and direct as needed but the majority of the time the students are on their own to accomplish the STEM challenges under supervision and guidance. NO, they will not be allowed to sit around and play on their phones all day. It will all be project-based learning, educational, and fun challenges that will keep them moving, thinking, and engaging. 2nd - 8th Graders - Limit 20 Students
Please share this and invite a friend to camp. This is a really fun and non-intimidating way to try out our camps if you've been thinking about it for awhile. Please contact me with any questions. Thank you. Dustin
